Emily sat on her bed in her room, reading a book in the light of a lamp, and all the while listening to the soft splash of rain as it fell outside. The city was drenched in the rain fall from the past few hours, and if the skies were any indication, the rain wouldn't be stopping any time soon. Absentmindly, she flipped through a few more pages before giving up and tossing the book to the floor. Emily turned off the light and lay there in the dark, staring up at the ceiling. She was anguished, couldn't concentrate, and she didn't know why.

Hanging, suspended in a sea of nothingness, Alex slept, calm and peaceful. It was a sleep from which nothing could disturb him as he drifted through the void of darkness. It may have last only a few moments, or maybe a life time or two, he couldn't tell, nor did he care to keep track. The darkness seemed to wrap around him, like warm blankets on a cold winters night. Alex might of stayed there for an eternity, stayed there in his wonderful slumber, but it wasn't meant to be. A white flash of light exploded nearby, and the darkness turned from black to white. I've been trying to learn how to draw for several months now. While my drawing ability has improved quite a bit, I still can't draw anything good enough to post on here. So, if any artists happend to stumble upon this journal entry, would you mind leaving some advice to help me.

...It's somewhat amazing where an idle search can take you if you let it... Uh... I don't really know how to complement your writing as one author to another without sounding like a perv... All the same, your stories made for an *ahem* 'engrosing' read.
